Super-Duper Dog Park lost pages

Look at what I found today. I was looking for stuff to give away for the new Sparkplug Fundraiser that will be happening very soon and I stumbled upon some artwork I'd done for the Super-Duper Dog Park. It had to be scrapped. Unfortunate. I looooove it though. This was my last sheets of good Strathmore bristol before they started bleeding like crazy. Canson and Utrecht for me now. Unfortunate as well. The french cafe one will go in our baby's room.

Reading today at 1:00 in Vancouver

Hi everyone. I'll be doing a reading today at 1:00 PM in Vancouver, Washington. Come by if you can or have kids.

Kazoodles toy store will celebrate its sixth birthday this Saturday, March 10, featuring local authors and illustrators. A “read-in” in the book section will benefit the Humane Society for Southwest Washington. Games, crafts, and prizes are on the birthday docket at the store, 13503 S.E. Mill Plain Blvd. in Vancouver. Portland’s Dragon Theater Puppets and Princesses will be on hand from 2 to 4 p.m. for face painting, balloon animals, and an appearance by a fully-costumed princess. Kazoodles is open from 9:30 a.m. to 7 p.m.

From 10 to 11 a.m., Camas police officer Tim Dickerson will read his book, Napping With Daddy, and talk about writing it. The book was illustrated by former Camas art teacher Amy Barnes. Loowit’s Legend, a recently published retelling of a Native American story about the Columbia River Gorge, was illustrated by Diana Thewlis of Vancouver. At 11 a.m., Thewlis will read the book and describe the process of creating the watercolor illustrations. Aron Nels Steinke, who grew up in Clark County and teaches elementary school in Portland, will arrive at 1 p.m. to share two of his “Balloon Toons” books, The Super Crazy Cat Dance and The Super-Duper Dog Park.

Kazoodles is a local, independent business owned by Bob and Mary Sisson. It has been voted “Best of Vancouver” four times by readers of Vancouver Family Magazine, and “Best of Clark County” twice by readers of The Columbian. All the birthday party events are free, though Dragon Theater will accept donations. For more information, visit www.kazoodlestoys.com.
